Job Description
The Talent Shop has a client seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee daily operations in their establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of the food industry. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, and maintaining operational efficiency while driving profitability.
Location: Washington DC Metropolitain Area
Duties
- Lead and manage all aspects of the establishment, ensuring high standards of service and quality.
- Oversee staff training programs to enhance team performance and customer satisfaction.
- Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and optimize supply levels.
- Develop and implement budgets, monitoring financial performance to achieve business goals.
- Coordinate food preparation and bartending activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Facilitate banquet operations, including planning, execution, and post-event evaluations.
- Utilize POS systems effectively for transaction management and reporting.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff.
Experience
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the food industry is essential.
- Strong background in team management with demonstrated success in staff training and development.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management practices.
- Experience with inventory control systems and best practices.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and bartending skills is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both staff and customers.
Qualifications
- Flexibility to work in either DC, MD or VA
- Experience managing in high volume restaurants, with a minimum of three years preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
- Capable of continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and arms
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations
- Robust financial aptitude in respect to business operations
- Passion for hospitality
- Ability to lead and develop a team
- Be caring, self-motivated, and exhibit an aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence
- Hospitality degree preferred
