Assistant General Manager / Bar Manager

The Talent Shop is recruiting an Assistant General Manager / Bar Manager on behalf of a confidential hospitality group operating a high-energy, bourbon-forward cocktail and dining concept. This role is ideal for a hospitality leader with a strong mixology background who thrives behind the bar, loves building teams, and is passionate about craft cocktails, spirits, and guest experience.
This role serves as both a floor leader and the creative and operational owner of the bar program, partnering closely with the General Manager to drive service, profitability, and culture.

Key Responsibilities|

Bar, Beverage & Mixology Leadership

• Own all aspects of the bar program including cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
• Design, execute, and maintain signature cocktails, bourbon programs, and seasonal drink features
• Lead bartender hiring, training, and performance management
• Train the team in mixology techniques, recipe execution, and spirit knowledge
• Maintain beverage standards, portioning, and presentation
• Oversee bar inventory, ordering, and beverage cost controls

• Act as a visible floor leader supporting FOH operations and bar flow
• Deliver a high-energy, hospitality-driven guest experience
• Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
• Partner with the GM on staffing, service standards, and daily execution

• Monitor beverage costs, waste, and comps
• Support labor management and shift performance
• Assist with reporting, opening, and closing procedures

• 3+ years of bar management or assistant management experience
• Strong mixology background including craft cocktails and spirit-forward menus
• Experience with bourbon, whiskey, and premium spirits strongly preferred
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead bartenders
• High-volume or nightlife-driven concept experience a plus
