Assistant General Manager

The Talent Shop is working with an upscale, fine dining, farm-to-table restaurant in Staunton, Virginia to find a dynamic, results-driven Assistant General Manager. The ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization, aids in strategic planning, and monitors financial performance. The role requires excellent leadership, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations and ensure operational efficiency
• Lead and mentor staff to achieve performance goals
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, including budget management
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Drive customer satisfaction and address escalated issues
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes
• Collaborate with various departments to achieve organizational objectives
• Perform all duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• REQUIRED: Leadership experience in upscale or fine dining restaurant operations
• Strong understanding of daily operations, service standards, and team management
• Financial proficiency including budgeting, cost control, and labor management
• Ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and resolve service issues
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
• Comfortable working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays
