Job Description
A popular neighborhood sandwich shop is looking for a friendly, hands-on Front of House Manager to help lead daily operations and ensure guests enjoy a welcoming, laid?back experience with great food, quick service, and genuine hospitality. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and enjoys building a positive, high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
FOH Leadership & Daily Operations
- Support the General Manager in overseeing front-of-house operations, including guest service, shift flow, and opening/closing procedures.
- Lead, train, motivate, and coach FOH staff to maintain strong service standards and a positive team culture.
- Build effective schedules based on sales patterns and staffing needs.
- Ensure the dining room, counter area, beverage stations, and pickup zones remain clean, organized, and guest-ready.
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, friendly service that reflects the welcoming neighborhood vibe of the shop.
- Greet guests, assist with questions, and resolve any issues with professionalism and care.
- Monitor service speed and accuracy, ensuring guests receive their sandwiches and orders promptly.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient communication between BOH and FOH during peak hours.
- Assist with coordinating order flow, maintaining accurate ticket times, and supporting smooth service transitions.
Operational & Administrative Support
- Monitor FOH inventory (e.g., paper goods, beverages, supplies) and place orders as needed.
- Enforce health, sanitation, and safety guidelines in all guest-facing and prep areas.
- Maintain operational standards and help implement systems that improve speed, accuracy, and guest satisfaction.
Sales & Business Support
- Assist in developing and executing strategies that increase sales, improve service, and enhance overall profitability.
- Help manage labor and operational costs through thoughtful scheduling and shift leadership.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or sandwich shop management or assistant management role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, train, and motivate FOH team members.
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment—especially during lunch rushes.
- Ability to manage shifts effectively and maintain smooth operations during peak hours.
- Experience supervising employees and handling coaching, discipline, and performance issues.
- Familiarity with quick-service or counter-service restaurant best practices is a plus.
