Vacuum Truck Operator (CDL A or B)
Full-Time | Bristow, VA | Field-Based (DMV Area)
The Talent Shop is partnering with a growing construction services company to hire an experienced Vacuum Truck (Hydrovac) Operator to support commercial construction projects throughout the DMV area. This is a full-time, hands-on role offering competitive pay, full benefits, and steady work with opportunities to grow.
This position is based out of Bristow, VA, with daily travel to regional job sites.
What You’ll Do
- Operate hydrovac trucks and equipment to safely perform vacuum excavation, including daylighting utilities, trenching, potholing, storm drain cleaning, and debris removal
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance to keep equipment clean, safe, and job-ready
- Follow all OSHA and company safety standards and contribute to a strong safety-first culture
- Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and clients to complete work efficiently
- Complete job site documentation using mobile tools and reporting systems
- Assist with job setup, cleanup, and hose management and support other operators as needed
- Adapt to changing job site needs and perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain within the first 30 days
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Availability for early start times, extended hours, occasional weekends, and regional travel (up to 25%)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Nice to Have
- 1+ year of hydrovac or heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience working on commercial construction sites
- Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and equipment care
- Familiarity with utility locating, vacuum systems, or excavation techniques
- Background in utility work, site development, or military engineering
